Hello!
Originally I was going to do this with black outlines, like the last few things I've done... But I decided rather suddenly that I wanted to try a monochromatic, line-less version. I think I'm pretty happy with it!
Storyboards, Animation, Doodles, Fun! And of course, All original artwork on this blog has a copyright.

More Final Fantasy Fan Art
Man, I am on a roll! This occurred to me earlier today. It's a parody of the Portal 2 logo, just with a Final Fantasy angle. Instead of the blue figure, I tossed in the ever-present and totally adorable Cactuar. I realized that the two had very similar poses, so it just came together quickly!
Nothing super exciting, but I thought it would be fun.

Black Mage Painting
Howdy!
One of the things I have most trouble with and need the most improvement on is painting in Photoshop. I generally like the crisp albeit limited painting you can do in Flash, but sometimes I need a little more.
So keeping with the black mage theme, I tried my hand at painting an image in PS. I cheated a little but, by laying down the base color in Flash and then adding texture and tones in PS. I then toyed around with some of the filters, and I think it came out pretty ok. If anything, my biggest gripe is the eyes. I kept them very straight but looking at the finished piece, they seem very unnatural. Ah well, lesson learned! :)

I Wanna Be A Bear
Hey! I love the song "I Wanna Be A Bear" by Descendents so I wanted to do an image based on it... Kind of.
Not sure if I like the paper texture, so I might change that.

Baaaad Times At Fable High Storyboards
Here are some storyboards I did a few months back. I was to take a fable, in this case, The Wolf And The Lamb, and board it anyway I wanted, as long as the moral and characters were true to the original. So, I took it and made it a contemporary high school comedy type of a deal. I am really happy with the end result. Maybe one day I'll animate it too!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Unused Caricatures
Hello!
So I had to caricature someone at work this week. I have a tough time with it, so I had a few of the talented folks I work with show me some pointers. Ultimately, I ended up going with something very similar to what one of the artists drew, so here i a handful of unused ones that I did. It was a challenge for sure, but it was nice to explore things I don't usually pursue!
Enjoy!

Unused Designs
Hi there!
Today I bring you some unused designs that I sketched up for work.
I drew this bird up and ultimately I had to cut him. Luckily I can use him for another bit of animation. The final design is a bit different, and once I can show stuff from work, I'll post him.
And as a bonus, because Ian Merch pointed out that today is Draw A Dinosaur Day, here's an unused dinosaur design.
The final is not an Apatosaurus, but it still has that same stupid face. Though, I tweaked it a bit to make him look a little confused. :)

Tank Color Comp
Happy New Year!
One of my resolutions was to be much more active with this blog this year. I want to go back to doing at least one update a week. So here's the first update for 2011!
This is just a quick sketch / color comp for a drawing I was doing this afternoon. I've been recently playing Valkyria Chronicles (Which features a tank) and reading Dragon Ball (Whose creator, Akira Toriyama, sometimes draws personal sized planes, cars, tanks, etc.) so I was inspired to do something along those lines.
I will probably clean it up in Flash and do a different paint job, who knows. Enjoy!
